YOUR involvement is central to the achievement of WEDHS' vision of a health and social care service in Wales that recognises, and provides for the needs and interests of all its' black and minority ethnic (BME) citizens.

There are many reasons why we need you to take part. Sharing your knowledge or experiences and giving your point of view not only challenges the status quo and provides new ways of looking at things, it helps create a better understanding - a more detailed picture - of the changes needed to give patients and service users the right support, treatment and care. Becoming more knowledgeable about health and welfare issues is also empowering; giving you more control of your future health and wellbeing.

Browse this section to see how you can play a part - large or small - in shaping and creating services that will have an impact on all in Wales.

  • Discuss different points of view in WEDHS email group
  • Make your opinion known: comment on key issues in the latest poll
  • Are you an experienced community-based researcher? Are you fluent in one or more languages in addition to English or Welsh? Use your skills: facilitate at events and during research projects as a translator or interpreter.
  • Participate in research projects you care about; share your knowledge and develop new skills.
