Involve People
WEDHS believes that all stakeholders should be partners in the research and development process; that they have the right to enjoy the benefits and the burdens of research, and that they have an invaluable contribution to make.
While the benefits of patient and public involvement are extensive, WEDHS appreciates that recruiting can be time-consuming: trying to locate people and make sure they feel comfortable with the process is hard to fit into an already busy schedule.
In response to issues such as these, WEDHS has provided a detailed explanation of the process, found in How We Work/Involving People, which answers the most frequently asked questions and outlines the positives - from both the researchers and publics points of view; whilst enabling people to register quickly and easily on-line.
If you are looking for patients and public to take part in your study please get in contact. Please note that we do not pass on details of potential participants, rather we spotlight your research to potential participants.
We also offer a consultation service to help identify how better to involve people from BME backgrounds in your research. Our work in this area is done currently being developed in consultation with the Involving People Network and the CRC Cymru Training Network.
