Knowledge Exchange
Learning from and sharing our work with others –individuals, community and voluntary organizations, equalities agencies, policy makers, practitioners, researchers and funders – shapes our research agenda and scholarly activities.
As a multidisciplinary research group working in the field of Ethnicity, Health and Society, we are dedicated to working collaboratively - with practitioners, policy makers, funders and researchers engaged in research, scholarly activities, community development, training, and advocacy that revolves around addressing the priorities and concerns of minoritised and racialised groups in Wales - to improve the lives of BME people, to improve practice, and to influence policy.
The regional research support hubs in operation in SE Wales, West Wales and North Wales between 2006 and 2010, developed their own regional strategies, established research development groups to generate research proposals, fostered regional membership and rolled out a programme of work that ranges from research seminars to information exchange workshops and the co-hosting of conferences. Since 2006, WERC has hosted twenty events (seminars, workshops, conferences and community-based information and knowledge exchange days) throughout Wales.
